Friends in Dance: Choreographer's Showcase

You are cordially invited to attend "Friends in Dance" a choreographers showcase. April 12 at 8PM in the Wilson High School Auditorium, Long Beach CA.

"Friends in Dance" is the dream of Keith Clifton, owner of Clifton Dance Project in Huntington Beach CA. To bring together his "friends" in dance for a night of non competitive performances showing their recent works of choreography.

This years show is shaping up to be a stellar event with guests including : Keith Clifton, Greg Russell, Mandy Moore, Tony Tee, Tammy Tee, Mike Esperanza, Leann Alduenda, Nebraska's Stephanie Chase and others.

This years performance is a special dedication to our friend in dance Daniel French. Daniel was a working dancer in Las Vegas and was planning his marriage when he was taken from us. We are joining forces with the EPILEPSY Foundation of Greater Los Angles to make a donation in Daniels name.

Clifton Dance Project owned by Keith and Linda Clifton. Established in Huntington Beach and dedicated to training working dancers. Along with Daniel we have many other former students who are working in the industry. Trevor Kroll currently working with Holland American Cruises, Katie Cook Disneyland, Autumn Clifton 7 seasons with Radio City Christmas Spectacular and many others. Keith, Linda and their staff work with children as young as 3 teaching and building their talents and self esteem.

Clifton Dance Project usually stages 3 shows per year for the benefit of teaching the students the value of audience and stage presence. As always our JUNE Show is the annual recital to show parents , Grandparents and friends the progress of the students. In December we stage "Who Stole Christmas",a wonderful original production following the Grinch through Whoville and finding the meaning of Christmas.

And of course "Friends in Dance" our April show features our Company dancers. These dancers have shown dedication to their craft and have been hand selected by the staff to join the group.

All of these productions could not be possible if not for the help and support of the
parents. The Clifton Dance Theater Guild was established for the sole purpose to organize various fund raising events to raise money to promote the Humanities for children, specifically the art of dance and voice for families in the Huntington Beach community.

Most of these efforts help to provide funds to stage our shows through rental of sound and lighting equipment, theater rental and insurance. As the newly appointed President, I want to see the Clifton Dance Theater Guild do more to help the students with their performances by providing more funds for guest artist education, conventions and costumes. ?

Mission Statement
The Epilepsy Foundation will ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will prevent, control and cure epilepsy through services, education, advocacy and research.
Welcome! The Epilepsy Foundation is the national voluntary agency solely dedicated to the welfare of the more than 3 million people with epilepsy in the U.S. and their families.

The organization works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure. In addition to programs conducted at the national level, epilepsy clients throughout the United States are served by more than 53 Epilepsy Foundation affiliates around the country.

We are a non-profit, charitable agency, designated as a 501 (c) 3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations to the Foundation and its affiliates are tax deductible as allowed by law.

What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures affecting a variety of mental and physical functions. It's also called a seizure disorder. When a person has two or more seizures, they are considered to have epilepsy.

A seizure happens when a brief, strong surge of electrical activity affects part or all of the brain. One in 10 adults will have a seizure sometime during their life.

Seizures can last from a few seconds to a few minutes. They can have many symptoms, from convulsions and loss of consciousness to some that are not always recognized as seizures by the person experiencing them or by health care professionals: blank staring, lip smacking, or jerking movements of arms and legs.

Although there has yet to be a cure for epilepsy, we can strive to ensure that "not another moment is lost to seizures." People living with epilepsy can manage their seizures and improve how they are perceived, accepted and valued in society.
