LA Contemporary Dance Company Dance Audition Schedule
AUDITION AND SUMMER INTENSIVE
Summer Intensive: July 6-10 and 13-17, 2009
Brockus Project Space, 618B Moulton Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90031
The intensive will include daily contemporary modern technique class, LACDC repertory and improvisation, and additional workshops in composition, theatrical design, arts administration and body conditioning.
Classes will be taught by LACDC Artistic Director, Kate Hutter as well as LACDC company members and guest teachers working in concert and commercial dance in Los Angeles.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday
10am - 12pm Contemporary Modern technique
12pm - 12:30pm Lunch
12:30 - 2:30pm LACDC repertory and improvisation
2:30 - 2:45pm Break
2:45 - 4pm Workshops in Composition, Theatrical Design for the choreographer, How to start your own company & produce your own work, Pilates and dance medicine, and others TBA.
Participants in the full 2-week intensive will have the opportunity to perform LACDC repertory, student choreographed work and improvisational scores for the L.A. community in the "Summer Studio Performance" at 8pm on Friday, July 17 at the Brockus Project Space.
FEES:
$275 Full two week intensive, including the audition
$150 One week (July 6-10), including the audition
*Food, lodging and transportation must be provided by the student.
This is a pre-professional and professional dance program. No audition is required, but a minimum of 3 years of training in ballet, jazz and/or modern is required. There is one class level. Be prepared to be challenged. We are excited to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for dancers in various phases of their training, and we embrace all types of bodies and movers!

We are looking for male and female dancers with Modern, Ballet and / or Jazz training who are experienced in partnering, improvisation, dance theatre and contemporary movement. Please bring your resume and a photo. The space will be open 30 minutes prior to the audition for registration and warm-up.
There is a $20 audition fee. Participants in the summer intensive are welcome to audition for FREE. Please register for the audition. You may pay the $20 fee online through the PayPal link listed below OR by cash / check on the day of the audition.
**It is recommended but not required that you participate in the summer intensive if you are auditioning. We would love the opportunity to get to know you before the audition day!
Please send a check payable to “L.A. Contemporary Dance Company” to 8033 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90046. Please write the name of the applicant on the check if it is different than the payee.
You will receive a confirmation email from us once payment has been received and your registration for the intensive or audition is processed.
REMINDER: Your spot in the LACDC Summer Intensive will not be secured until payment is received. The intensive will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
